On March 21, 2020, Morris County issued Emergency Declaration Number 2, which clarifies that the restrictions set forth in Executive Order 107 and 108 are in full effect in Morris County. On May 1, 2020, Morris County issued Emergency Declaration Number 3, regarding state and county parks, and golf courses. Its terms about conduct in parks and golf courses concur exactly with the rules listed in Governor's Executive Order #133. On June 15, 2020, Morris County issued Emergency Declaration Number 4. It supersedes all previous COVID-19 emergency declarations, and adheres to the directives detailed in Governor Murphy's Executive Orders.. On June 24, 2020, Morris County issued Emergency Declaration Number 5. This Executive Order continues the Morris County Declaration of Emergency, but removes any specific restrictions related to outdoor activities as the Governor's Executive Orders defines those prohibited activities. 2020 Public Safety Youth Academy Cancelled The Morris County Office of Emergency Management has been committed to the COVID-19 pandemic since day one. Our 7-day operation will continue until this is over. With the exception of our Emergency Operations Center and 911 Communications Center, the Morris County Public Safety Complex continues to remain closed. Police and Fire recruit classes which were all in progress at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, have been canceled. We are still in a holding pattern until further notice with regards to opening for classes in our Public Safety Training Academy at which time we will need to prioritize space for our first responder programs. At this time, we have no choice but to cancel our 2020 MCPSYA Program. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office at 973-829-8600. Executive Orders from the Governor Administrative Orders from the State Data Dashboard COVID-19 Executive Orders According to Executive Order No. 107, as of March 21, 2020, all NJ residents shall remain home unless they are: Obtaining goods or services from essential businesses Obtaining takeout Seeking medical attention Visiting family members as a caretaker or romantic partner Reporting to or performing their job Engaging in outdoor activities (social distance permitting) Leaving home for an educational, religious, or political reason For safety At the direction of law enforcement or a government agency Executive Order No. 142, signed on May 13, allows the following, as long as proper guidelines are followed: Starting 5/18: Non-essential retail can open for phone, online ordering, curbside pickup Starting 5/18: Non-essential construction work can restart Starting immediately: Drive-thru gatherings allowed 2020 Mitigation Plan Update Morris County is pleased to kick-off the 2020 Morris County All Municipalities Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) update. The HMP is updated every five years, with the goal to save lives and property through the reduction of hazard vulnerability. Learn more about the 2020 Mitigation Plan Update! The Morris County Office of Emergency Management – Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is currently accepting applications for certified and experienced Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and/or Paramedics to join our EMS team.
